I think facebook is great for keeping in touch with friends from all around. This summer I went to Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts school & camp in Steamboat Spring, Colorado. It's was such a great experience and though phone numbers, and emails may be easy to some, I can reach all my Perry-Mansfield friends through facebook. We even have a group set up just to keep up with what were doing throughout the year or even if we'd like to meet up. I created a little slideshow with some pics that I took while at the camp. I miss my friends and I'm glad I have facebook to keep in touch.
Hello hello! Boundary dissolution. Society has completely controlled media. The media has set boundaries that artists constantly redefine! For this assignment I chose to demonstrate boundary dissolution by combining text and music. As a dancer one doesn't always enjoy the typically just finding music to dance. I have always been interested in creating my own pieces to perform to. I took
the very well-written text from the end of the track "Headlines" from Music Artist Drake and played it over Kanye West Interlude " All of the Lights" From his " My Beautiful Dark Fantasy Album. Both mediums are commonly used together. It's not much of a boundary to cross.
Another assignment for DMA. What do you think is happening to creativity in the new-media era? Well I dont' think much can happen as far as creativity due to the fact that nothing can really be original anymore. Most people really attempt to create something new, however in my opinion nothing is new. There is a LOT of sharing going on --or is it stealing?? I feel credit should be given when credit is due. There is a threshold I feel that separates stealing from sharing. If a choreographer creates a work and buys the rights to it, it is only fair for people to pay to use it, however if people don't buy the rights to their work then that's there problem anyone should have the right to use it if they want to.
Meanwhile is it possible that the future of art is already being weakened and legislated out of existence by outdated copyright and intellectual property laws? I'm really not sure about that because, I don't know if the rules are outdated. My example is I crochet, right? so I didn't create my pattern but I did create my design, at the moment I'm trying to find the rules/laws I have to go by to sell the things I crochet without getting sued. I took the pattern offline and remixed it...does that make it mine or is it still the original designers? HMMMMMM..... In this regard I think the remix is one of of the signature creative forms of the 21st century, because it's and old idea that is inspiring enough to be remade. Why do you think fashion is such a cycle? It' just keeps getting redone over and over and over again. New-media is not destroying the artistic culture we have come to know and love, it's evolving it into something we've seen before with a twist...I wouldn't say it's new it's just a variation.
So this past week, I chose to remix my original video which my theme was "Determination". Our task was to use group members theme Idea and intertwine them with our own theme. I chose to insert a picture used by a group member to represent "passion" . It was a picture of fireworks! I feel Passion and Determination pretty much go "Hand in Hand" so I inserted her picture with some video clips inspired by her picture. Hope you like it!
Hello Everyone, I'm late but here it goes! For my theme I chose "
DETERMINATION". I had a bit of a hard time choosing what I wanted as a
theme but determination seems to keep popping up in my life and I am
quite passionate about it. I feel determination is passion. I feel the
two go pretty much hand in hand. Initially when I thought of
determination I thought of my sign....I am a vivacious Leo and when I
desire something I will go to the ends of the world to get it,
especially if it's worth it. I agree with Abigail about passion being
represented by
excitement, but I feel determination has an excitement of it's own. It's
kind of like the underdog of passion if you will...more like the person
behind the scenes that rises to the top in the end. I felt I could
portray the quality of determination by linking up some memorable movie
clips that to me best illustrate determination. I used
30-day free trial of Camtasia. I have used this program before for
another DMA assignment, however I haven't used it in awhile so I had to
refresh my memory but I think it turned out ok. Hope you you like the
video and let me know what you think.
