Unlimited Key: Hey my name is Cortney Key. I am a Finally a Senior at UNCSA.This blog is for a course called Self, Society & Cosmos. SSC is designed to provide a structured opportunity for us to explore and articulate our own worldview and ways-of-knowing. A worldview can be defined as a person's internalized, intertwined, unified understanding of self, society, and cosmos. A worldview is something like the lens through which a person views the world. Closer to personal philosophy than to self-portraiture or even autobiography, a worldview is like a snapshot of how a person sees the world, taken from the inside looking out. A way-of-knowing (WOK) can be defined is an integrated set of principles and methods through which a person experiences and/or comes to know the world. We will explore and debate the proposition that there are multiple WOKs --including the intellectual, the aesthetic, the scientific, and the spiritual-- which individuals use in varying proportions to construct and reconstruct their worldview.
